Wednesday Yarn Along

Wednesday's Yarn Along finds me reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and knitting a lot of different things.

My blog- Technique Thursday- A Prayer Shawl for My Mom, who did pass away on Saturday after a long road with Alzheimer's.  God is merciful, but I grieve her loss.  But I knit on.....

"Knit on, with confidence and hope, through all crises." Elizabeth Zimmermann

I'm working on knitting my Mom's Prayer Shawl just to console myself- somehow it makes me feel linked to her. It is being knit up in blues and white which remind me of her.  The lighter blue of myself.

I'm also still sewing up that last seam on my Wool & The Gang's Fearless Cardigan.  Yes, the very last seam- yup I'm getting on it!

The green & blue variegated bumpy ball of yarn is the beginning of my poncho- Technique Thursday- Doing up a Poncho and How To Follow a Knitting Pattern, which when I clear the table of all else, is my main knit.  I'd love to be wearing it next month when I go travel East to see my daughter graduate.

That little scrap of peachy yarn is the leftovers from my Tuesday's Eclectic Thoughts- A Finished Peachy Dishcloth, which I intend to start another dishcloth to keep in my purse to knit when I'm out and about.

  1. I've been obsessively watching Outlander on Starz. I read the book when it first came out (and don't remember much), so I'm going to dive into the whole series this time. I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's wonderful you're continuing to knit the shawl. I hope you find comfort in thinking of her as you knit.

  2. Thank you I really appreciate your kind words. It is a solace of a kind to just knit. Calms the soul. Knitting Therapy! You will have fun reading Outlander and I don't think watching the series ruins reading the books- or visa-versa. They seem to both complement each other. I like seeing the show and having details fleshed out I forgot or didn't see that way. Oh and they put such love into it, the show.
