Wednesday's Yarn Along

Join us at Ginny's "Small Things" blog to share what you are reading and knitting at her "Yarn Along".

So I ripped out my  Elise's Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief   because my count was off and then I tried to correct it, but by the time I got to the last layer I felt it wasn't as long as it could've been with my having 100 yds. more on my skein than called for.  So I started over,  I added stitch markers and I've been going slower counting as I go.  So far I'm pleased with the results.

On the reading front I still keep on finding good deals either through BookBub or this time from looking at the books recommended by Amazon at the bottom for similar style writers.  Most writers will have a deal or free book to start a book series.  So last week I really enjoyed KIDNAPPED, A Romantic Suspense Novel (Edgars Family Novels Book 1) by Suzanne Ferrell, which is still free (Goodreads - Kidnapped).  In the same Romantic suspense I found (also free) Stealing Justice (The Justice Team Book 1) by Misty Evans, for a review - Goodreads - Stealing Justice (Justice Team #1).  I got very sidetracked last night, finding solace in my knitting and I couldn't read.  Haven't read today.  So we shall see, but I'm eagerly awaiting disappearing from reality.

  1. Your shawl is gorgeous. I put mine version into time out, someday I'll get back to it.

    1. Thanks, sometimes it helps to give something a rest and come back to it later refreshed and more motivated.

  2. I love the colorway you've chosen. I started that shawl once as a gift but the yarn I wanted for the gift looked wrong with the pattern so I made something else, I should pull it out again.

    1. Hope you do! All the Malabrigo yarns look great for this. I'd only recommend if using the Arroyo, the DK weight, to use two skeins if you want it bigger than a kerchief. That's what I'll do next time. https://www.jimmybeanswool.com/knitting/yarn/Malabrigo/Arroyo.asp
