Wednesday's Yarn Along

Join us at Ginny's "Small Things" blog to share what you are reading and knitting at her "Yarn Along".

Reading, knitting and ripping out seem to be my weekly work this week.  I ripped out my sweater The Really Improv Sweater!,  (Monday Moments - A Step Backwards to go Forwards), re-knit it, made mistakes and ripped again.  But once again I'm on track, but with my sweater I'm slowing down to check and recheck my counts and raglan edges and increases.  I want this one a perfect prototype.  So I can't accept a stitch off as I increase at the raglan sleeves and front.  Patience is what it requires.  When it's done I'll use a better wool and make a copy with any new adjustments I need to make it just right.  I want a loose, kinda "The Boyfriend's Sweater" look.  Simple, comfortable, plain.  When done I want to call it My Vanilla Sweater.  I like things simple like simple vanilla cookies.

My shawl is my refuge knit.  Mindless, quiet, no need to think knitting. Just Knit It with Gifted Stash

See these posts for hat patterns-

Tomorrow I'll be doing a post on Free Cowl Patterns and Friday lots more cowl patterns, inspired by a conversation with my oldest daughter who wants to design her own cowls and sell them.  I found some great inspiring patterns while helping her!

And I'm reading Anything for You (The Blue Heron Series) by Kristan Higgins on my tablet.  I had started it in the Spring when I got the kindle version, but I was stalled by the start.  I'm used to the author being funny and the beginning isn't,  but once it gets rolling it's a great yarn!  I'm over 3/4 through and I'm looking forward to the next Kristen Higgins book I read, which is the one I skipped in the series- "In Your Dreams" (The Blue Heron Series Book 4).  The couple it's about are in the book I'm reading now, actually the main character's sister and it sounds like it'll be a fun read.
