Yesterday I was strolling through the links I have towards the bottom of the margin on the right for other knitters' blog posts. I like to see what's up with other blogs when I've finished mine. A blog I often visit is a Mainer doing a blog called: what if this is as good as it gets. With a name like that who could ignore it? So yesterday I got a glimpse of her Thursday post: what if this is as good as it gets: Project Peace. It's about a fairly large movement of knitters, almost 19,000 people who are knitting a cowl to further peace. Christina Campbell, designer of this beautiful cowl Knit-Along called Project Peace - Ravelry Project Page started the knitalong December 1st and will continue it for 21 days, filled with sharing and blog posts of encouragement in The Healthy Knitter.
I hope to start this a bit late. I want to get my Christmas hats mostly finished and I don't mind starting late and finishing in January. I plan to get some Natural (from the Bare collection of undyed yarn) in Chroma Fingering Yarn at KnitPicks. It should be soft and cosy and white, which to me symbolizes peace, serenity and simplicity. Also January to me is a "white" month where one re-groups, simplifies and finds more peace. So, to drag this project over to January works better for me in several ways. As long as I'm knitting with everyone else on the 21st, because then the group wants a world wide knit in day of peace.
