Tuesday's Knitting Away

Joining "Frontier Dreams" today and sharing my creations.

Sometimes ripping out seems the only way forward for me.  My perfectionism kicks in and I know I'm disappointed that something just isn't turning out just right, or perfect and I know ultimately I'll be happier in the end if I rip.  So as I was almost at the end of the Elise's Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief  and I was compelled to frog it!  I absolutely loved it, but I was being oh, too confident and feeling if I'm doing the stitch right, I must be hitting that count right.  When I discovered I was off count and off center, I tried to fudge it by just adding a few stitches, no one will see I reasoned.  Well I did.  I realized at the end that I probably took up more stitches width wise and I wanted just a tad more length to make the last section fit in, and I wanted the kerchief perfect. So redo.

So so far I'm keeping perfect track and this obviously takes a bit more time, but this was intended to be my November knit and it was going up too fast, so I'm all good with savoring the results.  Also I've learned a few things.  I started marking my work over certain intervals, like 20 right now, so I can more easily keep track. And I'm pleased with the results.

Nicole says: "The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link" on her blog, link above.

  1. I know how you feel as the same thing has happened to me and I had to frog the whole thing! Your shawl is coming along beautifully. I love the yarn color and design; I have never knitted with Malabrigo. Have a wonderful day! Pat

    1. Thanks, I am glad I flogged it all too and it's coming along really well, just a bit slow with counting all the time. But I'm determined to have it perfect and I like the results so far. Just starting tier 3!
