Today's Teaser Tuesday is from Janet Evanovich's and Lee Goldberg's fun read- The Scam.
"Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Books And A Beat.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!"

"The Scam", pg 226:
"That would be a tragedy. Maybe I can save you from that, at least temporarily. We'll pay you a hundred thousand dollars to help us take down a bad guy who launders money for mobsters and terrorists."
"What do I have to do?"
"Kill me," Nick said.
Chet smiled. "I'd be glad to."
I need to read more books by this author. The ones I've read have been great! This sounds like another story I'd enjoy.
ReplyDeleteMy Tuesday post features a mystery thriller: THE SHADOW CARTEL.
I remember reading some of Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels a long time ago. I didn't realize she also collaborated with other authors. Thanks for sharing! My teaser is from the first in a cozy mystery series by Nancy Atherton and can be found at: http://abookaddictsview.blogspot.com/2016/04/teaser-tuesday.html
ReplyDeleteI like all of Janet Evanovich's books but these Fox & O'Hare series I especially like- it reminds me of Remington Steele (for those who were not watching adult shows, or maybe alive in the 80's! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083470/) and the snappy fun dialogue between the lawless con-artist and the (former) straight-laced FBI agent. Also the sparks fly! It's just fun but having Lee Goldberg as a co-author lends a more adventurous note than her other reads. Have fun! There's a new one out June 21st- "The Pursuit" http://www.evanovich.com/books/the-pursuit-june-21-2016/. I have no problem reading them out of order, at least so far. Enjoy.
