Simply Saturday - Project Peace

“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”

I dove in this week with my beautiful midnight green yarn from Knit Picks called KnitPicks Preciosa Tonal Fingering Yarn in Bonsai .  Soft and so reminiscent of evergreens, here the different tones make me think of the varied greens found in a pine bough.  Truly Christmas inspiring.  I had planned to do a December shawl out of this yarn, but I realized I was stressing about doing that and getting Christmas hats finished and I could only sigh about wanting to do the Project Peace by Christina Campbell.  It took me a bit to see the obvious, by sacrificing the shawl idea, I get a lovely cowl project, intended to promote peace in our lives.  I'm not going to push myself, just enjoy the journey and consider this my December knit, giving myself the whole month to complete.

It's an amazingly calm knitting pattern, rhythmic and soothing. Read the blog that goes with this project for peaceful inspiration - The Healthy Knitter .

Peace, how sweet.  It really is stopping me in my tracks daily to rethink what I'm doing at the moment if it's not conducive to a peaceful inner person. Maybe when I wear it, the reminders will stick around.

Check out this week's Winter Wonderland photos.

Enjoy this week of frozen landscapes, take time to pause and enjoy the view, the sparkle of the snow and icicles that have formed.  Breath deeply of the cold air (if you can) and stop and be.

And let it begin with me.”

    1. Thanks. I'm really enjoying this cowl, the knit is so peaceful and rhythmic. All the yarn I've gotten from Knit Picks has been fantastic. This particular color I was looking everywhere for and I had given up, later I found it, Knit Picks had it.
